After listening to Overboard about a week or so ago I really grew to like this artist. I got his recently released Halo LP soon after which is just as lovely as the overboard single offering a shoegazey, dreamlike and almost retro style of production. This song actually stands out on the album because it sounds a little less contemporary (at least in the realm of shoegazing and electronic pop). I’ve been enjoying the little things within music a lot lately and this song presents a wonderful example as it’s abstract rhythm and subliminally offbeat kick (or maybe it’s just an awkward cadence) hooks me… I’ve had it on repeat for quite some time now.
I can think of no better way to get my post-bday night morning rolling. What a wickedly awesome collaboration with Neon Indian and the Antlers. Perfect! What a way to jam.
Yep… it’s getting that time now. Birthday time. Can’t believe I’m 21… alright I’m over it. Pretty pumped to be legal in the states, but it’s not a big deal really.
Tomorrow is that day, wish me a happy bday! Come out to the Toucan if my other plan doesn’t pan out-it’ll be up on my ‘Facebook’. Is it bad that using that word in that kind of context still kinda makes me nauseous? Don’t get me wrong.. I don’t hate it. I just dislike at how much of a turn our social dynamic has taken. How can EVERYONE be THAT obsessed with one thing? I mean if everyone played that much soccer, or wrote that much music, etc- would it be as socially acceptable? Obviously not, they’re completely different schemes but jeez… sometimes I just miss the good’ol days of knocking on your friend’s door, having not ‘texted’ or ‘called’ or ‘fb’d’ them and just drag them out, regardless of what they were doing, to play some street hockey, manhunt or tag. Where are the days of lego, art attack, and camping? are we moving in a different direction and is it the right one? Do we all just adjust and accept the fast-paced changes or do we accept criticism in standing our ground and accept the labels of ‘weird/crazy’?
These are some thoughts I have at times, but not too often; don’t think I am too cynical. I just get a little nostalgic from time to time. I enjoy what social media can do for us if we use it properly, I just really (don’t like using the word but..) hate when people take things to excess. Let’s live a little.
I woke up not too long ago, and that was after crashing late last night due to a late night out + adjusted sleep schedule.
I’m really digging this original Twin Sister song right now.. it’s my first experience with the band and I must say… well effing done. Leave your thoughts.
Just like the Title suggests: “Monday Glory” This song is a great way to start anything off: a morning or day, week, or session of studying/writing. Go to Lady Daydream.

WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST HUMAN MEMORY?
I thiiink that would be around when I was 5 or 6, either playing with my ‘new’ friend in the neighbourhood Ashley Argue (we ended up becoming best friends for a very long time)
I’ve been up late today due to my disturbed sleep schedule.
That being said, I had a great night and connected with some very good friends from the past. Just throw in some pints, good food, Blackbird Blackbird and some Washed Out and you sir, have yourself an amazing day.
Here’s a new one by Georgia’s Ernest Greene whose started producing some really amazing music that started out as a bedroom-recording project in mid-2009, I hope you enjoy:
This is a very temporary site (it’ll probably only be up for another 2-3 weeks max) but here’s a ‘peek’ at what I plan to run and do for the next little while.
Opinions, thoughts and criticisms are always appreciated. Let’s see if being an entrepreneur pays off! :)
Shine On, You Crazy White Cap (Blackbird Blackbird Remix)
This is not only THE song that got me into Mikey Sanders (Mike Maramag, aka Blackbird Blackbird), but when played on a walk or in any situation really; it actually makes me feel unreal. Probably the happiest song in my library. Can’t wait to play it on some new Senn’s. If I ever mixed anything close to this good… I’d say I can die happy. Good on ya Mikey, keep doing what you do.
